Explore. Travel. Get Lost.

"Did you know, you can quit your job, you can leave university? You aren’t legally required to have a degree, it’s a social pressure and expectation, not the law, and no one is holding a gun to your head. You can sell your house, you can give up your apartment, you can even sell your vehicle, and your things that are mostly unnecessary. You can see the world on a minimum wage salary, despite the persisting myth, you do not need a high paying job. You can leave your friends (if they’re true friends they’ll forgive you, and you’ll still be friends) and make new ones on the road. You can leave your family. You can depart from your hometown, your country, your culture, and everything you know. You can sacrifice. You can give up your $5.00 a cup morning coffee, you can give up air conditioning, frequent consumption of new products. You can give up eating out at restaurants and prepare affordable meals at home, and eat the leftovers too, instead of throwing them away. You can give up cable TV, Internet even. This list is endless. You can sacrifice climbing up in the hierarchy of careers. You can buck tradition and others’ expectations of you. You can triumph over your fears, by conquering your mind. You can take risks. And most of all, you can travel. You just don’t want it enough. You want a degree or a well-paying job or to stay in your comfort zone more. This is fine, if it’s what your heart desires most, but please don’t envy me and tell me you can’t travel. You’re not in a famine, in a desert, in a third world country, with five malnourished children to feed. You probably live in a first world country. You have a roof over your head, and food on your plate. You probably own luxuries like a cellphone and a computer. You can afford the $3.00 a night guest houses of India, the $0.10 fresh baked breakfasts of Morocco, because if you can afford to live in a first world country, you can certainly afford to travel in third world countries, you can probably even afford to travel in a first world country. So please say to me, “I want to travel, but other things are more important to me and I’m putting them first”, not, “I’m dying to travel, but I can’t”, because I have yet to have someone say they can’t, who truly can’t. You can, however, only live once, and for me, the enrichment of the soul that comes from seeing the world is worth more than a degree that could bring me in a bigger paycheck, or material wealth, or pleasing society. Of course, you must choose for yourself, follow your heart’s truest desires, but know that you can travel, you’re only making excuses for why you can’t. And if it makes any difference, I have never met anyone who has quit their job, left school, given up their life at home, to see the world, and regretted it. None. Only people who have grown old and regretted never traveling, who have regretted focusing too much on money and superficial success, who have realized too late that there is so much more to living than this."

A Little Trip.

I went on a lovely little trip to the coast recently and had so much fun! I stayed the night with the lovely photographer and friend Haley Graham! We woke up bright and early and went to pick up a fellow model Megan Markus! Us girlies traveled to the Cannon Beach area and it was such a fun trip talking about modeling, photography, life, and current events. :) I can't wait to be in Portland soon so I can meet up with either of them from time to time! Soon soon soon I shall embark on a new adventure. And I just can't wait.

Here's some photos from our adventure:

California Dreaming?

Lately I have been, it seems a lot of people have been venturing to California. A close friend of mine left a couple days ago. Which made me think of how bad I've been wanting to get out of Eugene and start traveling around and adventuring. Its unfortunate when you have factors holding you back, but short trips are always fun.

Next week my friend Tess is taking a short vacation to Cali, I think I may go with her. I really want to go, but I also don't want to miss my dads walk to defeat ALS. Which is super super important to me. So I haven't quite decided yet, plus I need to get the days off.

BUT! it would be so much fun, I haven't been to California in a while. Spend some time at the beach, in the sunshine, shopping, and having fun. Eeek. That'd be lovely. :)

I need this:

I just need to get away, and guess what. I am, I'm getting away from here for a bit. Of course not that far away, just 2 hours or so. But 2 hours is better than anything. Off to visit my best friend and leave everything behind. Including my cares. I'll just let them stay down here for a bit while I head up there. I seriously cannot wait. This is what I need. I really needed this. Before school starts its absolutely necessary that I get away. We'll let the city have its way with me for awhile. ♥

An awesome adventure!

So not this last weekend, but the weekend before I went to Bend, OR. I actually had plans to go to Portland and then to Seattle for that weekend, but a friend had car troubles and needed to stay a bit more local and save money. So we traveled to Bend stayed with a friend and went on a huge adventure. It was so so so much fun. :)

We ended up hiking near Broken Top in bend and we hiked up pretty far! We crossed the river down lower when it was easier to cross, and oh my gosh the water was so freaking cold! It was crazzzy, and then I found the cutest froggy! hehe. So after we crossed we hiked on an older trail that disappeared at times, but we just followed the river up, and up, annnnnd upppp... haha.

We actually got pretty close to broken top and if we would've brought camping/backpacking gear I totally would've spent the night up there. It was gorgeous. We ran into some guys up there who had these craaazzzy loud, huge dogs. And one of them in particular wanted to eat me for sure. He was so big. He kept barking at us. So scary, then we talked to the guy for a bit and he gave us mosquito repellent and that was quite nice considering we were getting eaten alive! So we finally made our way back down ran into another group, one guy in particular was eyeballing one of my guy friends..haha. so funny. and then we finally crossed back over the river and hiked our way back to the parking lot. :)

Ending with some group picture taking anddd my own little photography stuff. I'll post when I get the CD back! Considering I use a 35mm. :) It's love. Anyways. All and all a pretty awesome trip with friends.

Sometimes I just want to leave,
leave it all behind. and just start new.
don't you ever wish you could just go.
Just keep in tough with the ones who love you the most.
Forget everyone, and everything. and just go.

Off to a new place. A new adventure.
A fresh start.

And then once you get there it's just so lovely,
because you see things anew, and fresh, with a
totally different perspeictive.

I want to travel, to leave, to get out of here.
This small town, away from this life.
To another country.

If you could go anywhere where would you go?
Well me, I would want to go to:

I feel I need a change in my life.
(Remember this)

I would love to go back. and get away.
far far farrrr away. I just want...

Something new.

I wish I could get away.
Just for a bit. But for now. I think my
closest escape will be to the

mountain mountain mountain!
Oh boy, I cannot wait.

Vacation

It was such a wonderful escape from here. I just loved getting away, and going on an adventure to somewhere I havn't been in a while, or just new places in general. The sunshine was my favorite. I love the sun, and oh how I missed it. The rain here in Oregon is just so depressing at times, it was so nice to get away from it. It made me so happy to just relax in the sand, and float in the water, letting all my cares fly out the window. I had so many great experiences. I love my family and seeing them was one of my greatest birthday presents, besides being in Maui again.

As I was lying in the water, listening to the ocean.
I felt at peace. Lying in the sun basking away, in the heat. It was so nice to just cool down and float away for a bit. I fell in love. I wish summer here would come sooner, I miss the sun already, and now that I'm home I can barely tolerate the pouring rain. It's just killing me.

Where are you summer?
Will you come soon?
Please?

Maui.

Yayyy! I'm goin on vacation, I'm goin on vacation.
:) I'm so excited right now it's a little ridiculous.
I mean I've only gotten like one hour of sleep but
still, it's okay I'll just sleep on the plane hehe.
I'm sitting in the airport right now, and let me
tell you, it's a tad bit boring. I'm happy my
mom is here with me. :)

We had breakfest at a little place in the
Portland airport called Roses. I really
didn't care where we ate I was just hungry.
I was totally please with the food. But the
best part was that it's my middle name and
favorite flower, just plain cute. ♥

I'm just so excited, eeek! It's going
to be a blasst. I love adventures.
hehe.

Sun sun sun!

Goodness...

Alright soooo, today was good. Unitl it became more towards the evening.
Ugh tonight was rough. Don't ask me why...but it was. :/
and it sucks right now. :/
Ugh just make these stupid feelings go away. That'd be great. Kthanks.

I just need to keep busy some more and get my mind off it all.
Luckily I have have work tomorrow. :)

Anyways...

School was good. I like all my classes. :)
Speech is... interesting. The teacher is a little hardcore. haha.
but that's okay, I'll learn more that way. :)

I really want to just pack up and move away from here.
Start somewhere new, meet new people. I don't know.
I'm just dreaming of course. If only I had enough money.. I totally would.

I'd move somewhere else, maybe tropical.. meet a cute cabana boy.
You know..
Or my life long dream. Visit Italy and have some foreign hunk sweep me away on his cute little vespa. Oh yess yess yess. That sounds soo good right about now. I wish I could go there sooo bad. I'd totally live there too. That'd make my life. haha.

Christiano Ronaldo:

YOU can be my cabana boy any day. hahahahaha. Seriously.
God he is so hott. Like if he were standing in front of me right now, my eyes would probably be burning. ;) anddd he plays soccer. whew.

Break me off a piece of that. ;)

Ugh just anything to get out of here. I'll be sending an S.O.S.
except you'll just be saving one soul. So it should say something like S.M.S. Save my soul. Hahahaha... oh puuuhhhlease. Do dreams ever really come true.

mmm nope. not in my reality. but we'll see I guess.
Every cloud does have a silver lining. ;)

Homeward Bound.

Yay, so my fam and I are headed home tomorrow, I'm super excited because I miss this one boy. ;) hehe. Anyways it's been pretty eventful. And I'm glad my mom has had a fun trip. But I really want to sleep in my own bed. That sounds quite nice right about now, these hotel bed aren't that comfy.

So when I get back I want to go on an adventure! :) That sounds quite wonderful, especially if it's with the boyfriend. I want to hike or go to the coast with him or to the mountains. Just something funn! :)

They really are, I like adventuring to anywhere, any place, and any time.
